The screen looks closer to 4:3 ratio than 16:9.

The first thing you need to confirm is that the logo is indeed in vector form when you open it in Illustrator and not just a bounding box indicating pixel-based art.
Toggle the keyboard shortcut Command + Y or go to the pulldown menu View > Outline (or alternatively Preview) to view your art in both modes.
If you have actual vector art, then check the following...
• Pulldown menu Window > Layers - are there any locked layers?
• Pulldown menu Object - is Unlock All in black? That would indicate an object has been locked.
Those would be two things to check.
I've checked these things that you've mentioned, but the problem is that I just can't find an option to cut a piece out of the logo. Here is an example (imagine it as a nicely designed logo):

Illustrator just doesn't seem to have a simple scissor/cut tool to cut out parts of a placed image, or am I totally missing something?

TRIM and Capsule Rebel are great cases. If you go for the TRIM make sure your order the black one, because the colored ones will stain within days if you are not careful.

I have run accros many of these in my area. I always send an email asking to meet somewhere so i can check it out. So far i have always gotten an email back about how they are currently out of the country, but they want to do the transaction via some escrow service. I guess i am hoping someday i might get lucky, but probably will never happen.

i was trying to set up a bluetooth mouse and one of the devices on the bluetooth list i didn't recognize. i clicked it and i think it sent a number out to the bluetooth device to type in so it could link to my mac.
after that i realized it was my neighbor's mac.
does this mean all they have to do is type the number and they can get into my computer? all my photos went missing yesterday and i found the the iphoto file mysteriously moved to another folder with some other photos which i couldn't possibly have done myself since i haven't accessed that file recently.
also just now i noticed that the "bluetooth file exchange" app is suddenly open.
what should i do?

Okay, nevermind. I know now, but I really don't know much about Spymac in general. Is it free? I couldn't find a price for it.

The simple answer is that if your company is not making enough money to pay a trademark attorney, you don't need a trademark... these are business protections, and without revenue you have little to protect.
Even if you did pay for a trademark, it does not appear you would be able to protect yourself in court (a potentially far more expensive process)... this means that your trademark would soon be invalid because if you do not actively protect your trademark, you lose it.
The high cost of some of these processes can be seen as a deterrent to trademark squatting... not that much different than the people who buy up domain names hoping that someday they will be valuable.
In terms of your specific company (r.e. your PM), because of the strong possibility that many other entities share the same name, I do not think that you would be allowed to take ownership or copyright over it.

What do you mean? Noone actually knows when new products will be released but we can often suspect certain things, about what system are you talking about? Also, the refurb store has some pretty good deals and it won't be a waste of money imo to buy something from the refurb store.

I have Simple Mobile service. I had been told to disable the 3G option on my iPhone 3gs. Now I have a new iPhone 4. With Gevey, can I now use the 3G enable? Will my phone work on 3G network? Thank you!

Well the Mac 9600 (the one I borrowed the video card for) won't really boot up and the buyer doesn't need it anymore. I should be fine for now but, if anyone has a card still I'd be interested. :)
