Go online, change ur address on record with INS/DHS and also for any pending INS petition u have curently.
dont have any fears like "oh if i change now will it screw up my on going...". nothing -ve will happen. worst ive heard is - something gets returned back to INS, you make a phone call and remind bout address change u have already done, and in 2 weeks they resend the doc to new address.
its the law, and they have made it damn easy for u to follow; so just do it.
if u want example - i myself moved 20 days ago, did online addr change. i had applied for ead renewal in may, INS sent ead card to my new address only...so the system works...i also know 3 other 485 cases where address chg was done, they had no prob receivng GC at the new addresses, no -ve affect.

Do you guys think I would lose my right to use EAD if I move to another employer by transferring my H1B? (I still have 2 years on it).
Please research the forumn for answer to your question...has been discussed a lot of times before...
To answer in short...You will loose your right to use EAD if your I40 is still pending and your employer decides to revoke it...

For every IV member that gets their GC, would it be too much to ask them to contribute say at least $100/- ? May be this can become a norm and the starting point for an "IV Alumni" :)
The folks who will be getting their GC's in the next 2 months can show the way - Along with posting the happy news that you got your GC and of course posting your RD and ND and PD and the fact whether you had AC21 or EAD or whatever :), will it be too much to give something back to the community that helped you all the way?
I think this would be a noble gesture in support of this organization that has supported the cause of lots and lots of employment based immigrants.

She needs her own I-797 showing transfer of the H-4, doesn't she? Whenever I changed companies, all my dependents got I-797s as well, and we had to present these at border to get new I-94s.

why does everyone on the forum get excited so easily?the proposals from CIR are just that-proposals. a bill has to be debated by both senate and house of reps and passed, then approved and signed by president to make it a law. Most bills do not become laws. The information of mere proposals has people all over the forum debating, arguing and doing all kinds of analysis about the various proposals in the CIR bill. So much speculation about something that is at an infantile stage makes me wonder what will happen if any of the proposals actually becomes a law!! i am sure many people in the forum will have heart attacks!!
By all means, I differ from your views, without discussion how we will we know what is going to be in the bill. the proposals are blue print summary of what is in store for a legislative effort. There should be always different viewpoints in a debate. NOBODY is going to have heart attack because of that. And this is not speculation this is actual summary of the proposals.
But again. IGNORANCE IS BLISS! but sometimes that Bliss make you blush! and it is dangerous sometimes. so go wtih the wind. :):o

What if this was a situation with someone who was NOT working for a NON-PROFIT but for any other FOR PROFIT corp?
Suppose I worked for a FOR PROFIT employer for 2.5 year and have .5 year left on h1b and then I file for 3 year extension of h1b. Once I get approval I move to EAD and work on EAD and then after 1.5 year I want to come back on h1b .........CAN I DO IT?
Can I still use the peition which was approved for 3 years?
Will I be counted in CAP and will have to go through lottery?
I am sure I will have to leave US and go to home country to get a h1 stamped but just want to make sure that it is a NEW h1 or just the old one which I can use.........??
Please help me as I have been trying to find a CLEAR answer on the board and was not able to get a straight answer. I have asked my lawyer also and she is researching it.........I will post her findings too.......

H1B is dual intent so even if I go back on H1B I can still keep intentions to immigrate right?
My gut feeling (not based on any facts) is you should be ok to go back on H1. Please consult an attorney though...
